Job description
The Headteacher of this highly successful and oversubscribed school is seeking to appoint a dedicated Science Teacher to join their thriving Science department. Science is an exceptionally strong faculty within the school, consistently producing excellent outcomes at both GCSE and A-Level. This is an outstanding opportunity for a Science specialist looking to develop their career in a supportive and academically ambitious environment. This position is suitable for both ECTs and experienced teachers , and the school is particularly interested in teachers who demonstrate passion, academic rigour, and commitment to continuous improvement. What the School is Looking For Immediate Start Science Teacher — ECT or experienced Ability to teach Science across KS3–KS4 Ability to teach to A-Level desirable but not essential A consistently high-quality practitioner with strong subject knowledge Someone who can contribute positively to a strong, forward-thinking department Commitment to raising attainment and ensuring positive progress for all students A teacher who values engaging, practical and enquiry-led lessons Excellent communication and organisational skills Passion for Science and for inspiring scientific curiosity in young people The successful Science Teacher will bring enthusiasm, ambition and creativity to the department, contributing to innovative curriculum development and helping maintain the exceptional standards the school is known for. The science team is collaborative, reflective, and deeply committed to maintaining its track record of strong results. School Information This is an 11–18 mixed comprehensive school serving Peterborough and the surrounding area. The school has an excellent local reputation and is recognised for its high academic standards, strong pastoral systems and warm, welcoming culture. The most recent Ofsted report graded the school as Outstanding , praising the behaviour, leadership, teaching quality and environment of high expectations. The Science block is modern and well-equipped, with specialist labs, practical support, digital resources and excellent technician provision. Experience and Qualifications Degree in Science or a Science-related subject PGCE or QTS Science teaching across KS3/4 (KS5 desirable) Salary Paid to scale MPS/UPS .
