Head of English and Media – Reading Start Date: Easter 2025 Location: Swindon, Wiltshire About the Role: An exciting leadership opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and talented Head of English and Media at a highly regarded Ofsted 'Good' school in Swindon. This school is known for its academic excellence, strong focus on creative expression, and commitment to student well-being. As the Head of English and Media, you will lead a dynamic and passionate department, inspiring students to explore the world of literature, language, media, and creative communication. You will drive the continued success of the department while shaping the curriculum and fostering a love for learning among students. Provide a forward-thinking approach to teaching media studies, including contemporary media and digital literacy, alongside traditional English literature and language. Contribute to the wider school community by enhancing the extracurricular life of the school, including media projects, creative writing workshops, and literature and media-related events. Lead and collaborate with the English and Media department to continue developing a high-quality curriculum that aligns with the school’s vision of academic excellence and creative exploration.
