Job description
Primary School in Bristol Full-Time / Permanent Start as soon as possible The Opportunity A welcoming and community-focused primary school in Bristol is seeking an organised and detail-oriented Finance Assistant to support the smooth and accurate running of the school’s financial administration. This is an excellent opportunity to join a supportive staff team where professionalism, collaboration and high standards are valued. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring financial procedures are completed efficiently and in line with school and regulatory requirements. The Role The Finance Assistant will work closely with the School Business Manager and senior leadership team, contributing to the day-to-day financial operations of the school. Key Responsibilities Processing purchase orders, invoices and payments Assisting with budget monitoring and financial record keeping Reconciling transactions and maintaining accurate accounts Supporting payroll administration and staff expense claims Liaising with suppliers, contractors and internal departments Providing general administrative and clerical finance support The Ideal Candidate Will Have Previous experience in a finance, accounts or administrative role Strong numeracy skills and excellent attention to detail Confidence using finance systems and Microsoft Office packages Ability to manage workload, meet deadlines and maintain confidentiality Good communication skills and a collaborative approach Understanding of school finance procedures (desirable but not essential) Eligibility to work in the UK About the School The school is proud of its inclusive ethos, supportive leadership and strong partnerships with families.
