Job description
Art Teacher – Full time, Permanent – Hertfordshire • Excellent opportunity for an experienced or aspiring Art Teacher from January 2026 • Permanent position in a modern, inclusive, and well-equipped independent school north of London • Teach Art across KS3–KS5 in a specialist, project-based creative environment Are you a passionate and skilled Art Teacher looking to inspire creativity in a dynamic independent setting? This vibrant, inclusive, and community-oriented school just outside London is seeking a talented educator to join its thriving Visual Arts department. Key Responsibilities: • Deliver engaging, project-based Art lessons from KS3–KS5 • Encourage creativity, experimentation, and independent thinking • Manage the school's art exhibitions, competitions, and showcases • Collaborate with design and technology staff on cross-curricular work • Support students with portfolios for GCSE, A-Level, and art college entry • Promote cultural enrichment through gallery visits and artist workshops Candidate Profile: • Qualified Art Teacher (QTS/QTLS or equivalent) • Strong practical art skills across a range of media • Passion for supporting creative learners in a nurturing environment • Experience preparing students for GCSE and A-Level Art exams • Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills Results across the Art department have consistently outperformed the national average in the UK for the past 15 years.
