Admissions Officer – Independent School – Harrogate Start Date: As soon as possible Contract: Full-time, Permanent Salary: Paid to scale School Information This prestigious independent 11–18 day school in Harrogate is renowned for its academic excellence, holistic education, and strong pastoral ethos. As part of its continued growth strategy, the school is seeking a highly organised and personable Admissions Officer. Role Overview The Admissions Officer will oversee the full admissions lifecycle, ensuring prospective families experience a professional, welcoming, and informative process. Key responsibilities include: Managing admissions enquiries from initial contact to enrolment Coordinating school tours, open days, and entrance assessments Maintaining applicant databases and tracking application progress Liaising with prospective parents and guardians Preparing offer letters and managing acceptance documentation Coordinating scholarship and bursary processes alongside SLT Supporting marketing and promotional initiatives Ensuring compliance with admissions policies and independent school regulations Maintaining accurate records and generating admissions reports This is a highly visible role requiring exceptional interpersonal skills and attention to detail. The Admissions Officer represents the school’s first impression and plays a key part in sustaining student recruitment. Admissions & Marketing Team Information You will work closely with the Headteacher, Registrar, and Marketing Manager. The admissions team operates within a structured but welcoming environment, using digital CRM systems to manage applications efficiently. The school values initiative, discretion, and excellent customer service. Professional development and training in admissions best practice are available. Candidate Requirements Previous admissions, marketing, or customer service experience Excellent communication and presentation skills Strong organisational and database management skills Ability to build rapport with families and prospective students Proficiency in CRM or school management systems (training provided) High levels of professionalism and confidentiality Ability to work independently and meet deadlines Commitment to safeguarding and school values Application To apply, please send your CV as soon as possible.
