Job description
Croydon, London £15- £18 per Hour (pro-rata) | Part-time | Long-term with potential for permanency Monday–Friday, approx. 11:30am–1:30pm (term time only) Start: ASAP Some children don’t need grand gestures — they need kindness, consistency, and a familiar face who helps lunchtime feel safe, positive, and enjoyable. We’re working with a welcoming and supportive school in Croydon that is seeking a calm, reliable Midday Meal Supervisor to join their team. The school prides itself on creating a warm, inclusive environment where every child feels valued during the school day — including at lunchtime, which is an important social and wellbeing space for pupils. The children are lively, friendly, and full of character. They simply need adults who can guide them, encourage positive play, and help lunchtime run smoothly and safely. This is a setting where staff care deeply, work as a team, and celebrate every small moment of progress. Key Responsibilities Supervise pupils in the dining hall and playground during lunch breaks Support children with routines, healthy eating, and positive social interactions Encourage safe, active play and help manage minor conflicts or worries Create a calm, friendly atmosphere and build positive relationships with pupils Ensure the wellbeing, safety, and happiness of all children in your care Work collaboratively with the wider team to maintain a structured, supportive environment What the School Offers A caring and collaborative staff team Training in safeguarding, behaviour expectations, and positive play Support from experienced leaders who prioritise wellbeing A friendly environment where staff are truly valued This Role Is Ideal For Someone Who: Enjoys working with children and helping them feel safe and supported Is patient, friendly, and confident managing small groups Can remain calm, fair, and consistent Has experience in schools, childcare, youth work, lunchtime supervision, or similar roles Wants a rewarding part-time role during the school day If this Midday Meal Supervisor position sounds right for you, please apply today or contact Wayman Education for more information.
