Job description
A forward-thinking and well-regarded secondary school in Bristol is seeking a skilled and creative Product Design Teacher to join its Design & Technology department from April . This is an excellent opportunity for a Product Design specialist who is passionate about practical learning, innovation, and delivering high-quality outcomes in a well-resourced school environment. The school places strong emphasis on creativity, technical skill development, and real-world application, and Product Design is a valued and popular subject within the curriculum. The Role Teaching Product Design across KS3 and KS4, with KS5 available depending on experience Planning and delivering engaging, technically rigorous lessons combining theory and practical application Supporting pupils with design projects, coursework, and portfolio development Encouraging innovation, problem-solving, and independent thinking Ensuring high standards of workshop safety and compliance Contributing to curriculum development within the Design & Technology department Supporting extracurricular design clubs, competitions, or STEM-related initiatives The Ideal Candidate Will Have Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) A degree in Product Design, Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related discipline Experience teaching Product Design or resistant materials at KS3 and KS4 Strong practical workshop knowledge and CAD/CAM experience Clear understanding of health & safety in a workshop environment High expectations for pupil engagement, behaviour, and achievement A creative, organised, and forward-thinking teaching approach School Information This Bristol secondary school is known for its supportive leadership, strong behaviour systems, and commitment to high-quality teaching and learning.
