Job description
Our Client is looking for a Head of Maths to work within a highly regarded mixed secondary school based in Oxford. This is a permanent position to start from January 2026. Head of Maths required to work on a full-time basis Outstanding school in Oxford Excellent Head of Maths to lead a highly successful and well-resourced department Our Client is seeking a talented Maths teacher with leadership experience to take on the role of Head of Department. This is a full-time position teaching across all key stages while overseeing curriculum development, staff support, and student achievement. The successful Head of Maths will be joining a well-resourced and highly successful department. This is an excellent opportunity to teach and lead within one of the best schools in the region where students are ambitious, and behaviour is exemplary. Experience and Qualifications Head of Maths or experienced Maths Teacher ready for progression Be an enthusiastic, inspiring leader and classroom practitioner Have excellent subject knowledge and the ability to deliver Maths up to KS5 A formal teaching qualification with QTS (i.e. PGCE) Legal ability to work within the UK School Information This is an outstanding mixed secondary school based in Oxford with a long record of academic excellence. With over 1,500 students on roll, including a thriving sixth form, the school consistently achieves results well above the national average. In 2024, 80% of students achieved grades 9–4 in English and Mathematics, with Mathematics remaining one of the school’s highest-performing subjects at both GCSE and A-Level. The school is oversubscribed every year, highlighting its strong reputation within the local community. The school was judged to be ‘Outstanding’ in its most recent Ofsted inspection and has developed an ethos of continual self-improvement, supporting both staff and students to excel. With modern facilities, state-of-the-art classrooms, and excellent resources, the school provides an ideal environment for Maths to thrive. The department has a strong tradition of success, with students regularly achieving top results and participating in national Maths competitions.
