Job description
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a talented and committed English Teacher to join a highly regarded independent co-educational school in Colchester , starting January 2026 . This is a full-time, permanent position , offering the chance to teach motivated students in a culture of academic and creative excellence. The Role As an English Teacher, you will: Deliver inspiring lessons across KS3–KS5, cultivating literary appreciation and critical thinking. Prepare students for GCSE and A-Level examinations with creativity and rigour. Contribute to literary clubs, debating societies, and drama collaborations. Work collaboratively to sustain the department’s outstanding examination results. About the School This independent school combines academic ambition with a focus on personal growth and creativity. Recent results include: 92% of students achieving grades A*–B in A-Level English. 90% GCSE grades 9–7 in English Language and Literature. Excellent reputation for creative writing and performing arts. Candidate Requirements Qualified Teacher of English with QTS or equivalent.
