Job description
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Year 1 Teacher for a good-rated, 2-form entry school located in Barking and Dagenham, starting ASAP. This is a full-time position. Year 1 Teacher Responsibilities Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons that are tailored to meet the needs of Year 1 students. Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages mutual respect and enthusiasm for learning. Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback and setting clear development targets. Foster students’ independence and creativity, helping them build essential skills for future learning. Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and ensure high standards of teaching and learning. Maintain strong communication with parents and guardians, keeping them informed of their child’s progress and addressing any concerns. Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and school activities as required. Year 1 Teacher Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent. Experience teaching in Key Stage 1, especially in Year 1. Strong understanding of the National Curriculum and effective assessment methods. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to differentiate teaching to meet the diverse learning needs of students. A team-oriented approach and a passion for inclusive education.
