Job description
The Role: Full-time KS5 History Specialist to join a leading academic school in Havering. Deliver engaging and challenging A-Level History lessons, fostering critical thinking and analytical skills. Develop and implement enrichment activities, including historical debates, lectures, and museum visits. Contribute to the departmental strategy for achieving outstanding A-Level results. Provide academic guidance and support to students, including university application assistance. About the School: A highly regarded, academically focused secondary school with a strong Sixth Form. Exceptional track record of A-Level success and university placements. Well-resourced History department with access to extensive library and digital resources. Supportive senior leadership team committed to staff development and student success. Excellent transport links, making it easily accessible from surrounding areas. The Ideal Candidate: A passionate and highly knowledgeable History specialist with a proven ability to inspire and motivate students. Extensive experience teaching A-Level History and a deep understanding of the curriculum. Ability to create stimulating and engaging lessons that cater to diverse learning styles. Strong commitment to student achievement and a proactive approach to academic support. Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to work collaboratively within a team. Qualifications & Experience: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent. Degree in History or a related field. Significant experience teaching A-Level History, with a demonstrable track record of success. Knowledge of current assessment practices and curriculum developments. Right to work in the UK.
