Job description
Role Category & Location Sector: Prestigious Independent Secondary School (with Sixth Form). Location: Bristol (South West, England). Start Date: Permanent, full-time role commencing January 2026. The Opportunity & Role Profile This major independent school seeks an experienced HR Manager to oversee all human resources functions. The role involves managing recruitment, employee relations, policy development, and ensuring compliance with all employment legislation for both teaching and support staff. Core Responsibilities & Duties Scope Recruitment Specialist: Leading end-to-end recruitment processes, including advertising, safeguarding checks, and onboarding new staff. Compliance Controller: Ensuring rigorous adherence to employment law, HR policies, and safeguarding requirements (e.g., DBS checks). Employee Relations: Advising senior leadership on staff performance, disciplinary, and grievance procedures. Compensation & Benefits Essential Requirements: Proven HR generalist experience, ideally holding CIPD Level 5 or higher. Knowledge of the independent school sector or education is highly desirable. Salary: Highly competitive salary compensated on the school's independent pay scale (expected to be £45,000 - £55,000 per annum).
