Job description
We are currently seeking an enthusiastic, motivated and academically strong Science ECT to join a prestigious Independent School in Bristol. This is a full-time, permanent position starting January 2026 (or earlier for the right candidate). About the Role As a Science ECT, you will be responsible for: • Teaching Science across KS3 and KS4 (KS5 opportunities as you progress) • Planning and delivering engaging lessons that develop curiosity and scientific literacy • Supporting pupils of varying abilities through clear explanations and well-structured tasks • Incorporating practical work safely and effectively • Participating fully in the school’s extensive ECT induction and mentoring programme • Contributing to enrichment activities, STEM clubs or academic competitions • Working collaboratively with the Science Department to maintain high standards This role is ideal for an enthusiastic ECT eager to develop their practice in a nurturing, forward-thinking environment. Experience and Qualifications • Degree in a science discipline • PGCE with QTS (ECT status) • Strong subject knowledge across Biology, Chemistry or Physics • Passion for teaching and inspiring young people • Excellent communication, organisation and reflective skills • Commitment to delivering high-quality lessons and continuous improvement Salary Competitive, based on the Independent School pay scale and dependent on experience.
