Job description
An Outstanding Sixth Form in Enfield requires a permanent, full-time Early Career Teacher (ECT) of Humanities, specialising in Sociology, starting January 2026. This role offers an excellent foundation in a high-achieving faculty. About the School This Outstanding-rated school is a large, highly successful institution known for its strength in the Social Sciences and its commitment to academic rigour. The Sixth Form attracts motivated students and offers a dynamic, well-established Sociology curriculum. The school prioritizes structured support for all staff, particularly new teachers, ensuring a consistent approach to teaching and learning and a focus on teacher wellbeing. Responsibilities You will deliver engaging instruction in Sociology across Key Stages 4 (GCSE) and 5 (A-Level), with some contribution to KS3 Humanities. Your core focus is driving high attainment and fostering critical sociological analysis, research methods, and understanding of contemporary social issues. You must actively engage with the school's ECT support and mentoring programme. You will contribute to the department's high standards of curriculum delivery and assessment. Requirements You must hold or be soon to obtain Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). You must have the right to work in the UK. You must hold a Degree or have experience teaching Sociology.
