Job description
Are you an experienced Intervention Teacher who loves delivering focused, high-impact learning interventions? We are seeking a skilled Intervention Teacher to join a forward-thinking primary school in Birmingham from January 2026. The successful Intervention Teacher will design and lead evidence-based intervention programmes across the school, monitor progress closely and coach teaching assistants in delivering structured support. As Intervention Teacher, you will work with class teachers, the SENDCo and senior leaders to identify pupils requiring targeted support and to plan bespoke pathways to accelerate progress. This Intervention Teacher role is ideal for someone who can combine excellent classroom practice with systematic monitoring of outcomes. Key details for the Intervention Teacher: • Intervention Teacher – Permanent or long-term fixed-term roles starting January 2026. • Based in Birmingham with strong networks and CPD opportunities. • Opportunity to influence whole-school intervention strategies as the Intervention Teacher. Responsibilities (as Intervention Teacher): • Lead targeted small-group and one-to-one interventions as the Intervention Teacher. • Use diagnostic assessment to plan precise interventions and record impact as the Intervention Teacher. • Train and support TAs in delivering consistent intervention delivery as the Intervention Teacher. • Report regularly to senior leaders on progress and next steps — a key duty of the Intervention Teacher. The Intervention Teacher will begin duties January 2026 and will play a central role in improving pupil outcomes from January 2026.
