Job description
A welcoming and well-resourced SEN school in South East London is seeking a compassionate, patient, and committed SEN Teacher to join their team for an immediate start . This full-time, permanent role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a setting that provides education, care, and tailored support for pupils with a range of additional needs. This is an excellent position for a teacher who believes in inclusive education, values emotional development alongside academic progress, and thrives in a nurturing, structured environment. About the Role You will work with students who may have: Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD) Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) Communication and sensory needs Social, emotional, and behavioural needs Classes are small , with a high level of support staff to ensure each pupil receives individualised attention. You will plan and deliver lessons which are differentiated, scaffolded, and adapted to support progress at different cognitive, emotional, and developmental levels. You will work closely with: Teaching Assistants providing 1:1 and small group support Speech & Language Therapy and Occupational Therapy staff SENCo, pastoral team and specialist behaviour practitioners This is a role where relationship-building, consistency and communication are key. Ideal Candidate We welcome applications from: Experienced SEN Teachers Mainstream Teachers looking to transition to SEN Teachers from Primary, Secondary or Specialist backgrounds You should be: Patient, calm, and emotionally resilient Able to build trust-based relationships Confident adapting curriculum content to meet learners’ needs Reflective, open-minded, and collaborative QTS is required for this position. Salary Paid on Main Pay Scale (MPS) – Upper Pay Scale (UPS) , depending on experience. Additional SEN allowances may apply depending on the school’s pay structure.
