Job description
A well-established independent nursery school in Merton is seeking a Nursery Teacher to join their team on a part-time, fixed-term basis. The role is available for an immediate start and will run until the end of the academic year, with the possibility of extending the contract. Position Overview Role: Nursery Teacher Location: Merton Contract: Part-Time, Fixed-Term Start Date: ASAP Key Responsibilities Plan and deliver engaging learning activities that support the developmental needs of children aged 3-5 years. Create a safe, stimulating, and welcoming environment that encourages exploration, play, and social development. Regularly assess children’s progress and development, adjusting teaching methods to suit individual needs. Work closely with parents and carers to ensure each child’s development is fully supported and nurtured. Collaborate with colleagues to deliver an inclusive and holistic approach to learning and well-being. Ensure the nursery always meets safeguarding and health and safety standards. Why This Nursery? Desired Qualifications and Skills Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent in Early Years education. Previous experience in a nursery or Early Years setting is essential. Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships with both children and parents. A nurturing, creative approach to teaching, with a passion for working with young children.
