Job description
A popular Richmond primary is seeking a reflective, creative Year 1 Teacher to join its KS1 team on a Full-Time basis from January 2026. The successful Year 1 Teacher will be invited to pre-term planning before January 2026, will attend a structured induction in January 2026, and will be in class from January 2026 as the Year 1 Teacher. This Full-Time Year 1 Teacher post is ideal for someone who loves phonics, early reading, and creative cross-curricular learning. • Year 1 Teacher — Full-Time post with a January 2026 start. • Year 1 Teacher to join a friendly Richmond primary — planning and induction begin January 2026. • This Year 1 Teacher will receive bespoke CPD and mentoring from January 2026. School snapshot • Good-graded Richmond primary with strong parental engagement and well-resourced KS1 areas. • Supportive staff team and experienced phase leaders who will mentor the Year 1 Teacher from January 2026. • Protected planning time and targeted CPD for the Year 1 Teacher beginning at induction in January 2026. (Year 1 Teacher) Responsibilities The Year 1 Teacher will teach high-quality systematic phonics, guided reading and engaging writing sequences. The Year 1 Teacher will plan purposeful continuous provision, run small-group interventions and keep careful formative records. The Year 1 Teacher will meet parents to report progress and will contribute to moderation activities scheduled before January 2026 and after January 2026. The Year 1 Teacher will be expected to attend planning days ahead of January 2026 and begin teaching from January 2026. (Year 1 Teacher) Requirements We are seeking a Year 1 Teacher with QTS (or equivalent), strong KS1 classroom practice and confident phonics delivery. The Year 1 Teacher should be enthusiastic about creating language-rich environments and able to start pre-term planning prior to January 2026, attend induction in January 2026, and teach from January 2026 as the Year 1 Teacher.
