Job description
An excellent opportunity is available for a History Teacher to join a distinguished independent girls’ school in Birmingham. This is a full-time position starting in January, teaching across KS3–KS5 (GCSE and A-Level History). History Teacher required on a full-time basis Prestigious independent girls’ school with strong academic reputation Well-resourced Humanities department with collaborative leadership Motivated, high-aspiring pupils with excellent behaviour This role offers the chance to teach in a school where Humanities are central to academic life. In recent years, 83% of pupils achieved grades 7–9 at GCSE History, and 85% of A-Level students secured A*–B. The department is dynamic, encouraging pupils to think critically about the past, develop debating skills, and engage with enrichment opportunities such as history societies, essay competitions, and trips to historical sites across the UK and abroad. Requirements • Qualified History Teacher with QTS (PGCE, QTLS or equivalent considered) • Strong subject knowledge across GCSE and A-Level History • Ability to inspire curiosity, independent learning and critical thinking in students • Organised, reflective and committed to continuous professional growth • Legal right to work in the UK Salary & Benefits Paid to scale on MPS/UPS, with enhancements for exceptional candidates.
