Job description
A highly regarded 11–18 secondary school in Reading, rated ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted , is seeking a Chemistry ECT to join their exceptional Science Department on a full-time, permanent basis from January 2026 . About the Role The appointed ECT will teach Chemistry across KS3–KS5 , delivering lessons that combine rigorous scientific content with creative, hands-on experimentation. They will be supported by an experienced mentor and a strong departmental team, ensuring a smooth transition into the profession. The successful teacher will design and deliver engaging lessons, assist in practical demonstrations, and encourage students to connect chemistry with real-world applications such as environmental science, healthcare, and sustainability. About the School This Outstanding school is known for its academic success, strong pastoral care, and commitment to professional development . The Science Department has modern laboratories, specialist technicians, and excellent resources for inquiry-based learning.
