Job description
A respected and academically ambitious independent school in the Malvern area is seeking an engaging and thoughtful Teacher of English to join its established department. This role offers the opportunity to teach English in a setting that values intellectual curiosity, high academic standards and a supportive, collegiate staff culture. The Role You will teach English across KS3–KS5 , delivering a rich and carefully sequenced curriculum that balances classic literature with modern texts and wider reading. Lessons are discussion-led and analytical, with a strong focus on developing students’ written expression, critical thinking and confidence in argument. At GCSE and A-Level, pupils are highly motivated and respond well to challenge. Class sizes are small, allowing for personalised feedback and in-depth exploration of texts. Teachers are encouraged to bring their own subject interests into lessons, enriching the curriculum while maintaining academic rigour.
