Job description
Lead Teacher of Art – High Achieving School in Wiltshire – April Start! A high achieving secondary school in Wiltshire is seeking a talented and ambitious Lead Teacher of Art to join its successful creative faculty from April 2026. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Art specialist to take on additional responsibility within a school that prides itself on strong academic outcomes and high standards of pupil engagement. Art is a well-supported and popular subject within the school, with strong outcomes at KS3 and KS4 and opportunities at KS5 depending on experience. The Role Teaching Art across KS3 and KS4, with KS5 depending on experience Leading on teaching and learning within the Art department Supporting curriculum development and assessment strategies Driving high standards in coursework, sketchbook development, and final outcomes Organising exhibitions, displays, and enrichment opportunities Coaching and supporting colleagues to ensure consistent high-quality practice The Ideal Candidate Will Have Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) A degree in Art, Fine Art, or a related subject Proven experience teaching Art at secondary level A strong track record of excellent classroom practice and pupil progress Experience leading initiatives or contributing to departmental development High expectations for pupil engagement, creativity, and achievement School Information This high achieving school in Wiltshire is known for its strong academic standards, positive pupil behaviour, and supportive leadership team.
