Job description
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Religious Studies ECT to join an inclusive and academically driven secondary school in Southend-on-Sea. This is an excellent environment for a newly qualified teacher to develop their classroom confidence while teaching KS3 and KS4 RS within a thoughtful, reflective Humanities department. The School The school serves approximately 1,300 students and has a strong reputation for student wellbeing, calm learning environments and consistent classroom routines. The RS department delivers a rich curriculum covering ethics, philosophy and world religions, supported by shared planning resources and strong subject leadership. ECTs receive reduced timetables, weekly mentor meetings, coaching cycles and structured feedback. Staff describe the school as welcoming, nurturing and development-focused. Leadership is highly visible and committed to guiding early career teachers through a confident and successful induction year.
