Job description
About the Role A leading independent day and boarding school in Warwickshire is seeking an inspiring and knowledgeable Teacher of Religious Education to join its Humanities faculty from January 2026. This is a full-time, permanent position offering the chance to teach bright, motivated pupils across Key Stages 3–5 within a school known for its academic distinction, intellectual curiosity and well-rounded education. You’ll join a faculty that values thoughtful discussion, open enquiry and a deep engagement with philosophical and ethical ideas. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious teacher to contribute to a department that combines rigorous scholarship with an appreciation for the wider human experience. The Department & Curriculum Religious Education and Philosophy are core components of the Humanities programme, encouraging students to explore complex questions around belief, ethics and identity. Lessons combine analytical rigour with space for debate and reflection, allowing students to develop both knowledge and empathy. You’ll benefit from: Small class sizes and motivated pupils who enjoy discussion and critical thinking Excellent resources, including digital tools, academic journals and library access Opportunities to teach GCSE and A-Level Religious Studies and Philosophy A collegial team with a culture of shared ideas and academic exploration Enrichment opportunities through lectures, discussion societies and visiting speakers About the School This historic independent school combines tradition with innovation, offering an education that balances intellectual challenge, creativity and personal growth. Pupils are articulate, respectful and ambitious, and the community is known for its warmth and collegiality. Set within beautiful grounds, the school boasts outstanding facilities — modern classrooms, a dedicated Humanities centre, a contemporary theatre and exceptional sporting and arts amenities. Teachers enjoy a professional, collaborative environment where individuality, initiative and academic passion are valued. Staff Benefits & Culture Staff benefit from: Competitive independent-school salary and pension scheme Extensive professional development and leadership opportunities Free lunch and refreshments during term time Access to the school’s fitness and wellbeing facilities A culture that values scholarship, creativity and innovation What’s on Offer This is a chance to work in a school where teaching is genuinely valued and where academic curiosity is at the heart of everything. The successful candidate will join a talented and supportive faculty, contribute to the co-curricular life of the school, and enjoy the autonomy to inspire students to think deeply about the world and their place within it. Ready to Join? If you’re an accomplished Religious Education Teacher with a love of philosophy, ethics and meaningful debate — ready to teach in one of Warwickshire’s leading independent schools — we’d love to hear from you.
