Job description
Geography Teacher – Human Geography Specialist – Tower Hamlets (TH) A progressive secondary school in Tower Hamlets is seeking a dedicated Geography Teacher with a strong focus on Human Geography and urban studies from January 2026. Geography Teacher (Human Specialist) required from January 2026 Tower Hamlets-based school with an innovative and progressive curriculum focus. Ideal for a teacher committed to using local case studies and fostering critical thinking about global population, migration, and development. You will teach Geography across KS3–KS5 (GCSE/A-Level), with a focus on human geography topics at KS5. The role emphasizes the use of GIS and data analysis, guiding students through practical urban fieldwork and promoting academic debate. Experience and Qualifications: QTS and a degree in Geography or a related field (e.g., Urban Planning). Proven experience teaching GCSE/A-Level Human Geography content. Proficiency in geographical information systems (GIS) and statistical data handling. Commitment to fostering a structured and innovative learning environment. School Information: The school is ideally situated for urban fieldwork opportunities. The department is highly supportive and encourages innovative curriculum development, with strong collaboration across the Humanities faculty.
