A highly successful secondary school in Birmingham is seeking a Science Technician to support its busy Science department from January 2026 . This is a full-time, permanent position and would suit someone with laboratory experience who enjoys working in an educational environment. Science Technician Full time January 2026 start Permanent position Outstanding Science department School Information Rated ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted, this inclusive secondary school educates around 1,300 students aged 11–18 and has a long-standing reputation for academic excellence. The Science department is well-equipped, with modern laboratories and specialist teaching facilities that promote hands-on learning and scientific exploration. The successful candidate will work alongside teachers and technicians to prepare, maintain, and organise practical materials for Biology, Chemistry, and Physics lessons. Training and professional development are fully supported. Experience and Qualifications Experience working as a Science Technician or in a laboratory setting Good organisational skills and attention to detail Knowledge of COSHH and safe laboratory practices A Science-related qualification is desirable Salary The salary for this Science Technician role will be paid according to experience on the school’s support staff pay scale.
