Job description
A supportive and inclusive SEN secondary school in Hillingdon is seeking a creative and compassionate Art Teacher to join their team from January 2026. This full-time, permanent role is ideal for a teacher who can inspire students with a wide range of needs through creative expression, while contributing to the holistic development of each learner. The successful candidate will play a vital role in using Art as a medium to build confidence, communication, and skills for life. Key Details • Full-time, permanent Art Teacher role starting January 2026 • SEN school in Hillingdon specialising in supporting students with complex needs • Deliver creative and accessible Art lessons across KS3–KS5 • Join a supportive team committed to inclusive education and personalised learning Experience and Qualifications • Qualified Art Teacher with QTS (PGCE or equivalent) • Experience working in SEN settings or with students with additional needs desirable • Strong subject knowledge and passion for inclusive, creative education • Patience, empathy, and flexibility in adapting lessons to meet diverse needs • Ability to use Art to develop communication, confidence, and social skills • Effective classroom management with a nurturing and positive approach • Legal right to work in the UK School Information • Ofsted-rated ‘Good’, with strong provision for SEND across all key stages • Excellent facilities including adapted classrooms, therapy spaces, and art studios • A holistic curriculum that balances academic achievement with wellbeing and life skills • Dedicated CPD opportunities, including training in SEN-specific strategies • Supportive leadership team committed to inclusion, collaboration, and staff wellbeing Salary • Paid to scale on MPS/UPS + SEN allowance Application • To be considered for this Art Teacher role, please forward an updated CV as soon as possible.
