Job description
Role Category & Location Sector: Outstanding Ofsted-rated Secondary Academy. Borough: Brent (Inner London). Start Date: Permanent, full-time role commencing January 2026. The Opportunity & Role Profile This Outstanding inner-city academy requires a reliable and highly practical Caretaker to maintain the daily security, cleanliness, and minor repairs across the premises. The school needs a hands-on individual who prioritizes safety and ensures the campus is welcoming and functional for all students and staff. Core Responsibilities & Duties Scope Access Anchor: Key holder duties, managing alarm systems, and securely locking up and opening the premises. Maintenance Mechanic: Performing routine minor repairs (DIY, basic plumbing/electrics), and reporting larger maintenance needs to the Site Manager. Presentation Partner: Ensuring internal areas, external grounds, and teaching spaces are kept tidy, safe, and fit for use. Compensation & Benefits Essential Requirements: Proven experience in a maintenance or site role, practical skills, and strong commitment to Health & Safety awareness. Salary: Competitive salary paid on the local government scale, reflecting Inner London weighting. Support: Generous Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS) and specific training opportunities related to site management.
