About the Science Department: The Science department is a collaborative and supportive team with a shared passion for fostering students' love of science and exploration of the natural world. We offer a stimulating and engaging curriculum that covers a wide range of scientific disciplines, including Biology, Chemistry, and Physics. We have well-equipped laboratories and access to a variety of resources to support students' learning and investigations. About the Role: Teach Biology across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the possibility of teaching at Key Stage 5 depending on experience and interest. Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons that cater to a variety of learning styles and abilities. Use a range of teaching methods and resources, including experiments, demonstrations, fieldwork, and technology, to bring Biology to life for students. Assess student progress, set targets, and provide constructive feedback to support individual learning journeys. Contribute to the department's curriculum development and resource creation, ensuring that our Biology curriculum remains relevant and challenging. Foster a love of Biology in students, encouraging them to explore the natural world and develop their scientific understanding. Work collaboratively with colleagues in the department and across the school to create a cohesive and supportive learning environment. Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance your teaching practice and keep abreast of the latest developments in Biology education. Ideal Candidate: Holds QTS or equivalent. Possesses excellent subject knowledge in Biology. Demonstrates a passion for teaching Biology and a commitment to student success. Has strong communication, interpersonal, and classroom management skills. Is confident in building rapport with students and fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment. Has a good understanding of the National Curriculum for Biology and relevant examination specifications. Is committed to ongoing professional development and reflective practice. Is supportive of the school's Catholic ethos and values.
