Job description
A welcoming and well-regarded primary school in Lewisham is seeking a part-time Year 6 Teacher to join their team as soon as possible . This role is an excellent opportunity for an experienced teacher looking to make a meaningful impact on students’ final year of primary education. The position is a fixed-term contract until April , with the possibility of extension. The school is keen to arrange interviews for suitable candidates soon. Role Overview Position: Year 6 Teacher Location: Lewisham Start Date: ASAP Contract Type: Part-Time (2 days per week), Fixed-Term (until April) Key Responsibilities Deliver engaging and structured lessons in line with the Year 6 curriculum. Prepare students for their end-of-key-stage assessments , ensuring they make strong progress. Assess and monitor student performance, providing tailored support where needed. Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages confidence and academic success. Collaborate with colleagues and school leadership to maintain high teaching standards. Communicate effectively with parents and carers regarding student progress. Person Specification Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent. A degree in Education or a relevant subject. Experience teaching Key Stage 2 , ideally within Year 6. Strong understanding of the National Curriculum and assessment strategies. Excellent classroom management and communication skills. A commitment to high expectations and student achievement. Ability to work collaboratively and contribute to the school community.
