Job description
Head of Design Technology – Independent School Are you a passionate and dedicated Design Technology Teacher seeking a new opportunity in an independent school? We are looking for an enthusiastic Design Technology Teacher to join a thriving department in a high-achieving school in Cambridge, starting in January 2026. This is a full-time, permanent position and we welcome applications from experienced teachers. About the Design Technology Department The department is a vibrant and successful part of the school, with a strong track record of producing high-quality productions and fostering a love of DT in students. The department has excellent facilities, including well-equipped workshops. As the Head of Design Technology you will have the opportunity to contribute to the department's continued success and shape the future of design at the school. About the Role As the Head of Design Technology, your responsibilities will include: Teaching Design Technology across Key Stages 3, 4 and 5. Planning and delivering engaging and differentiated lessons that cater to a diverse range of learners. Assessing student progress, setting targets, and providing constructive feedback. Contributing to the DT department's curriculum development and resource creation. Creating and maintaining a stimulating and supportive learning environment. Working collaboratively with colleagues in the department and across the school. Participating in relevant professional development opportunities. Experience and Qualifications DT related Degree QTS or PGCE Design Teacher Salary The salary for this Design Technology position will be paid to scale MPS/UPS.
