Job description
Kensington & Chelsea, London £95–£105 per day Full-time, Long-term with potential for permanency Monday–Friday, 8:30am–4:00pm (term time only) Start: ASAP Some young people don’t need perfection — they need consistency. Someone who turns up every day, sets boundaries with kindness, and believes in them even on the days they’re finding it toughest to believe in themselves. I’m working with a brilliant specialist SEMH school in London, and they’re seeking a patient, grounded Behaviour Mentor / Behaviour Support Assistant to join their dedicated team. The students are bright, charismatic, and full of promise, but many have experienced instability, trauma, or have additional needs such as ADHD or Autism. What makes the biggest impact for them is calmness, humour, and authentic support. This is a setting where staff don’t give up. They listen, they adapt, and they celebrate every step forward — especially the small ones that others might miss. Your role will include: Supporting students 1:1 and in small groups to help re-engage them in learning Building warm, trusting relationships that create a sense of safety Encouraging emotional regulation and modelling positive behaviour Working closely with class teachers to maintain a structured, settled environment Helping young people reflect, grow in confidence, and move towards better outcomes Being a steady, dependable adult they can rely on each day What the school provides: A genuinely caring and supportive staff team Ongoing training in trauma-informed practice and restorative approaches Clear pathways to progress into pastoral, mentoring, or teacher training roles Leadership that prioritises staff wellbeing and professional growth This role is ideal for someone who: Truly cares about helping young people feel heard and valued Has experience in schools, youth work, coaching, or the care sector Remains calm under pressure and can offer firm boundaries with empathy Believes every child deserves another chance and a fresh start If this Behaviour Mentor / Behaviour Support Assistant role sounds right for you, please apply today or contact Wayman Education for more information.
