Job description
Location: Harlow, Essex Start Date: January 2026 Salary: MPS (ECT scale) Are you a History ECT looking for a school that prioritises mentoring, structure and confidence-building? A supportive secondary school in Harlow is seeking a History ECT to join its Humanities department from January 2026. Job Overview This role involves teaching KS3 and KS4 History, working within a department that values shared planning, strong subject knowledge and reflective practice. The successful ECT will be supported with a reduced timetable, lesson modelling and regular feedback. History lessons focus on developing analytical writing, source evaluation and chronological understanding through a carefully sequenced curriculum. The School This mixed secondary school is recognised for its inclusive ethos, strong behaviour systems and commitment to staff development. Humanities subjects are well supported, and students are engaged and respectful.
