Job description
A high-performing 11–18 secondary school in Coventry is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Senior Data Officer to join its wider administration and operations team. This is a key role supporting school improvement, assessment tracking and strategic decision-making across the school. The school places a strong emphasis on using data intelligently and proportionately — to support teaching and learning, not to create unnecessary workload. The Role As Senior Data Officer, you will take responsibility for the management, analysis and presentation of student performance data across the school. Working closely with senior leaders, heads of department and pastoral teams, you’ll ensure that data is accurate, timely and meaningful. Key responsibilities include: Managing whole-school assessment and tracking systems Producing reports for leadership, governors and external returns Supporting departments with data interpretation and analysis Overseeing examination data and outcomes reporting Maintaining accuracy across student records and assessment cycles You’ll play a vital role in helping leaders identify trends, target support effectively and monitor progress in a balanced, sensible way. The School This is a large, well-organised secondary school with a Good Ofsted rating and a reputation for strong outcomes and excellent behaviour. Leadership is structured, professional and collaborative, with clear communication between teaching and support staff. The school has invested in robust systems and is keen to continue refining how data supports learning rather than driving unnecessary bureaucracy. Working Environment You’ll be part of a friendly, experienced admin team where roles are clearly defined and workloads are manageable. The leadership team values precision, confidentiality and professionalism, and support staff are treated as integral to the school’s success. Training is provided on the school’s systems, and there is ongoing support to ensure processes run smoothly.
