Job description
A highly committed and passionate PE Teacher is required to inspire students through a rich, varied and exciting sports programme. This role will involve teaching as part of an established PE department across KS3/4, with opportunities to contribute to the school’s extensive extra-curricular provision. Whether you are an experienced teacher or an ECT, this position offers an excellent step forward in your career. PE Teacher Independent School, Buckingham Equivalent of MPS/UPS Salary Full-Time position PE Teacher role starting January 2026 School Information This leading Independent School in Buckingham has a strong sporting tradition and is widely recognised for both academic and co-curricular excellence. The school places high value on developing the whole child, encouraging pupils to achieve their potential in the classroom and beyond. The PE department is a cornerstone of school life, with outstanding facilities including extensive playing fields, a sports hall, fitness suite and courts. The school has achieved notable success at county and regional level, with over 70% of pupils participating in competitive sport weekly, and several teams reaching national finals across rugby, hockey, athletics, and netball. Their commitment to sport goes hand-in-hand with academic achievement, helping students to build confidence, resilience, teamwork and leadership skills. Staff are encouraged to share their sporting expertise both in and out of the classroom, with a strong focus on extra-curricular clubs, fixtures and enrichment activities. Experience and Qualifications Degree in a sports-related subject PGCE or QTS Ability to teach PE to KS3/4 (KS5 desirable) Enthusiasm for extra-curricular sport and fixtures Salary The salary for this position will be paid to scale (MPS/UPS equivalent).
