Job description
Are you a proactive and detail-oriented Science Technician seeking a rewarding opportunity at a high-performing school in Hertfordshire? We are supporting an Outstanding secondary school in Watford to appoint a motivated Science Technician to join their thriving Science faculty. This position offers the chance to play an essential role in supporting practical science teaching and maintaining a safe, efficient laboratory environment. School Information: The school is an Ofsted Outstanding academy celebrated for academic excellence and a positive learning culture. Staff enjoy exceptional professional support and benefit from modern facilities, including purpose-built science laboratories and dedicated technician workspaces. About the Science Department: The Science Department consists of experienced and passionate teachers who place practical investigation at the heart of learning. Collaboration between technicians and teachers is encouraged to ensure lessons run smoothly and students experience high-quality demonstrations and experiments. Responsibilities: Prepare and maintain laboratory equipment and materials for lessons. Support teachers during demonstrations and practical sessions. Ensure compliance with health & safety and COSHH regulations. Manage stock levels and ordering of consumables. Assist in developing new practical resources. Qualifications and Experience: Background in Science or laboratory work. Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail. Understanding of health & safety in a school science environment.
