About the School A high-performing 11–18 school in Taunton with a thriving arts culture is seeking a Music ECT to join their Performing Arts Faculty from January 2026. The school has 1,150 pupils and a Sixth Form of 260, with a Progress 8 score of +0.51. It has been praised for its creative ethos and high student engagement in extracurricular activities, including choirs, orchestras, and theatre productions. About the Role This is a full-time, permanent position ideal for an early-career teacher with passion for classroom teaching and co-curricular leadership. The successful candidate will teach Music across KS3–KS5, inspiring students to explore performance, composition, and appreciation. You’ll also have opportunities to lead ensembles and contribute to school concerts and community events. The Music Department includes practice studios, a recording suite, and a digital composition lab. Staff enjoy autonomy, strong leadership support, and the freedom to innovate with modern technology and creative pedagogy.
