Job description
Independent School Ascot, Berkshire Full-Time/Permanent Start: ASAP Competitive Salary Lead Strategy. Drive Efficiency. Strengthen School Operations. A prestigious independent school in Ascot is seeking an experienced and strategic School Business Manager to oversee and lead the operational, financial and administrative functions of the school. This is a senior leadership position requiring strong commercial awareness, financial acumen and organisational expertise. The successful candidate will work closely with the Head and Governors to ensure the school operates efficiently, sustainably and in alignment with its long-term strategic vision. The Role Key responsibilities include: Leading the school’s financial management, budgeting and forecasting processes Overseeing HR, recruitment and staff compliance procedures Managing contracts, procurement and supplier relationships Ensuring regulatory compliance across health & safety, safeguarding and statutory requirements Supervising site, facilities and administrative teams Supporting strategic planning and contributing to senior leadership decisions Monitoring risk management and operational efficiency Overseeing income streams including fees, lettings and commercial opportunities The Ideal Candidate We are seeking a professional who: Has significant experience in financial and operational management (school experience desirable) Demonstrates strong leadership and team management skills Possesses excellent organisational and strategic planning abilities Has sound knowledge of compliance, governance and risk management Communicates effectively with stakeholders including staff, parents and governors Works with discretion, integrity and professionalism What We Offer Competitive leadership salary A key strategic role within a respected independent school in Ascot A collaborative senior leadership team Professional development opportunities A supportive and forward-thinking school community Application Process Please submit your CV and a supporting statement outlining your experience, leadership strengths and suitability for the role.
