About the Role: A prestigious independent school for boys in Harrow is seeking a passionate and experienced Head of Science to lead their high-achieving Science department. This full-time, permanent role is available for a September start, offering an exceptional opportunity to inspire the next generation of scientists and shape the future of science education in a renowned institution. About the School: Set on a sprawling estate with a rich history and a strong tradition of academic excellence, this school provides a unique and stimulating learning environment for boys aged 13-18. The Science department boasts state-of-the-art laboratories, cutting-edge equipment, and a dedicated team of experienced science teachers. Responsibilities: Provide strategic leadership and vision for the Science department, ensuring a high-quality curriculum and exceptional teaching standards across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics. Lead and manage a team of dedicated science teachers, fostering a collaborative and supportive departmental culture. Oversee the delivery of engaging and challenging Science lessons across Key Stages 3-5, promoting scientific inquiry, critical thinking, and a love of science. Manage and develop the school's science curriculum, ensuring it is innovative, rigorous, and aligned with the latest advancements in scientific understanding. Oversee the maintenance and development of science laboratories and equipment, ensuring a safe and stimulating learning environment. Contribute to the wider school community, promoting the value of science education and fostering partnerships with external scientific organisations. Ideal Candidate: Passionate about Science and committed to inspiring young scientists. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent. Proven leadership experience in a Science department.
