Job description
Are you a passionate and energetic Music ECT looking for the ideal place to launch your teaching career? We are seeking an enthusiastic Music Teacher to join a creative and ambitious secondary school in Oxford, starting January 2026. This full-time, permanent role is open to both experienced teachers and ECTs. About the School This Oxford school is known for its vibrant arts culture, strong community spirit, and excellent academic standards. Students are highly engaged in performance opportunities and benefit from a broad co-curricular programme. The school offers one of the strongest ECT induction programmes in the region, with supportive mentors, targeted training, and opportunities for rapid professional growth. About the Music Department The Music Department is dynamic and well-resourced with dedicated practice rooms, digital composition software, ensemble spaces, and a performance hall. Students take part in choirs, bands, ensembles, and annual productions, making it an inspiring environment for a new teacher. About the Role As a Music ECT, responsibilities include: • Teaching Music across KS3 and KS4 • Planning engaging lessons incorporating performance, composition, and listening • Supporting extracurricular musical activities • Participating in concerts, productions, and ensemble rehearsals • Contributing to curriculum planning • Engaging fully with ECT mentoring and CPD Experience and Qualifications • Degree in Music or related field • PGCE with QTS • Music Teacher (ECT welcome) Salary Paid to scale – MPS Application Please submit your application promptly to be considered for this Music ECT position in Oxford.
