Job description
We are seeking a reliable, enthusiastic, and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a friendly and inclusive primary school in Hayes, starting as soon as possible. This role provides a fantastic opportunity to support pupils’ learning and development, working closely with teachers and other staff in a nurturing, structured environment. The school has a strong ethos of inclusion and collaboration, where staff work together to ensure every pupil feels valued, supported, and challenged. Leadership is approachable and supportive, providing guidance, mentoring, and opportunities for professional development. Teaching assistants are valued members of the team and play a vital role in the daily life of the school. The Role As a Teaching Assistant, you will provide support to pupils across Key Stages 1 and 2. This may include supporting whole-class lessons, leading small-group activities, and providing targeted one-to-one support for pupils who require additional help. You will also assist with classroom management, helping to maintain a positive, structured, and safe learning environment. You will work closely with teachers to implement differentiated learning strategies, ensuring that all pupils are able to access the curriculum and make progress. Observing and recording pupil progress, contributing to assessments, and providing feedback to staff are key responsibilities. Key Responsibilities Support teaching and learning across Key Stage 1 and 2 Work with individuals or small groups to deliver targeted support Assist teachers with lesson preparation and classroom organisation Promote positive behaviour and engagement in learning Help pupils develop confidence, independence, and resilience Observe, record, and report on pupil progress Support pupils with additional needs, including SEND and EAL learners Collaborate effectively with teachers, teaching assistants, and other staff Maintain a safe, structured, and inclusive learning environment Follow safeguarding policies and procedures at all times Who We’re Looking For The ideal candidate will: Have previous experience in a primary school or educational setting Be patient, reliable, and enthusiastic Demonstrate excellent communication and teamwork skills Be proactive, adaptable, and committed to pupil wellbeing Show a strong understanding of inclusion and safeguarding What the School Offers A supportive and collaborative staff team Opportunities for professional development and CPD Well-resourced classrooms and learning areas A positive, inclusive, and nurturing school culture Engaged and motivated pupils who enjoy learning Location The school is located in Hayes, with excellent transport links and a friendly local community.
