Job description
Are you a Biology ECT eager to begin your teaching journey in a supportive environment? We are recruiting a passionate Biology Teacher for an ambitious and inclusive secondary school in Swindon, starting January 2026. This is a full-time, permanent role suitable for both ECTs and experienced teachers. About the School This Swindon school is well known for its high expectations, excellent pastoral systems, and strong academic performance. Students are motivated learners who respond well to clear routines, high-quality teaching, and challenge. The school offers an excellent ECT induction programme with mentoring, structured observations, and targeted CPD. About the Science Department The Science Department is successful, well-organised, and staffed with enthusiastic practitioners. Laboratories are modern, fully equipped, and supported by experienced technicians. Biology is a popular subject with consistently strong results. About the Role As a Biology ECT, responsibilities include: • Teaching Biology and general Science across KS3 and KS4 • Delivering practical and theoretical lessons • Assessing student progress and supporting achievement • Contributing to curriculum planning • Supporting enrichment such as science clubs and revision sessions • Fully participating in the ECT programme Experience and Qualifications • Degree in Biology or related discipline • PGCE with QTS • Biology Teacher (ECT welcome) Salary Paid to scale – MPS Application To be considered for this Biology ECT role in Swindon, please submit your CV at your earliest convenience.
