Job description
The school is recruiting an enthusiastic Geography Teacher for a full-time Maternity Cover position at an Outstanding secondary school in Harrow, commencing in January 2026. The role involves teaching across all key stages, with a focus on both physical and human Geography up to A-Level. The school seeks a teacher passionate about global issues, fieldwork, and developing students' spatial and analytical understanding of the world. Responsibilities Design and deliver engaging and academically challenging Geography lessons across all key stages. Co-ordinate and lead all necessary fieldwork and residential trips to enrich student understanding of geographical concepts. Develop students' critical thinking and data analyse skills for both human and physical geography. Track and evaluate student progress meticulously, ensuring high achievement at GCSE and A-Level. Contribute actively to the Humanities department, promoting awareness of contemporary global issues. Requirements Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent and a relevant degree specialism in Geography. Proven experience teaching Geography at the secondary level, including A-Level instruction. Excellent organisational skills, necessary for planning and executing fieldwork and assessments. A commitment to promoting environmental awareness and global citizenship in the classroom.
