Job description
Humanities Teacher – Outstanding School – Surrey An Outstanding Ofsted-rated secondary school in Surrey is seeking a versatile and enthusiastic Humanities Teacher to join their dynamic and successful department. This is a full-time, permanent position, teaching across Key Stages 3 and 4. The specific subject combination will likely include History and Geography, but could potentially involve other Humanities subjects (such as RE, Citizenship, or Classical Civilisation) depending on the school's needs and the candidate's expertise. Responsibilities: Plan and deliver engaging and challenging lessons across multiple Humanities subjects (primarily History and Geography). Create a stimulating learning environment that encourages inquiry, critical thinking, and a love of learning. Develop students' understanding of historical events, geographical concepts, and social, political, and cultural issues. Foster skills in research, analysis, interpretation, and communication. Assess student progress effectively and provide constructive feedback. Contribute to the development of the Humanities curriculum, promoting interdisciplinary connections where appropriate. To teach at a rated Outstanding School Requirements: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). A degree in a Humanities subject (History, Geography, Religious Studies, Classics, or a related field). Proven experience teaching at least two Humanities subjects at the secondary level. A passion for the humanities and the ability to inspire students across a range of disciplines. Excellent communication, organizational, and classroom management skills.
