Job description
Economics Teacher – Merton – Developing Critical Thinkers An Outstanding secondary school in the borough of Merton seeks a knowledgeable and dedicated Economics Teacher to join their thriving Humanities/Social Sciences department. This is a full-time, permanent position, primarily teaching Key Stages 4 and 5. The school is committed to developing students' analytical skills and their understanding of the forces shaping the global economy. Fostering Economic Understanding: As an Economics Teacher at this school, you will play a crucial role in helping students make sense of the complex world around them. Your responsibilities will include: Planning and delivering engaging Economics lessons that challenge students to think critically about economic principles and theories. Preparing students for success in GCSE and A-Level Economics examinations. Developing students' abilities to analyze data, evaluate arguments, and apply economic models to real-world situations. Guiding students through topics such as microeconomics, macroeconomics, international trade, and current economic issues. Assessing student progress rigorously and providing insightful feedback. Being a passionate Economics Teacher Your Expertise: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). A degree in Economics or a closely related field. Proven experience teaching Economics at the secondary level (Key Stages 4 and 5). Strong subject knowledge and a passion for economics. Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
