Job description
Geography Teacher – Outstanding School – Surrey An Outstanding Ofsted-rated secondary school in Surrey is seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Geography Teacher to join their dynamic Humanities department. This is a full-time, permanent position, teaching across Key Stages 3 and 4 (with potential for Key Stage 5). The school has a strong emphasis on fieldwork and connecting classroom learning to the real world. Responsibilities: Plan and deliver engaging and challenging Geography lessons that inspire curiosity about the world. Cover a range of physical and human geography topics, incorporating current events and global issues. Develop students' geographical skills, including map reading, data analysis, fieldwork techniques, and critical thinking. Organize and lead fieldwork trips (local, national, and potentially international – check with the school if this is accurate ). Create a stimulating and inclusive classroom environment that encourages inquiry and debate. Assess student progress effectively and provide constructive feedback. Contribute to the ongoing development of the Geography curriculum. Teaching at a rated Outstanding school Requirements: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). A degree in Geography or a closely related field. Proven experience teaching Geography at the secondary level. A passion for geography and a commitment to fieldwork and real-world learning. Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
