Job description
History Teacher required January 2026 Good mixed school based in Letchworth History Teacher to join a motivated, reflective and high-performing Humanities team The successful candidate will teach KS3–KS4 History and contribute to curriculum refinement, assessment moderation and department-wide initiatives. The role requires someone who is enthusiastic about historical enquiry, skilled in supporting analytical writing and committed to delivering lessons that engage, challenge and inspire students. The school is looking for a reflective practitioner who values teamwork and high academic standards. School Information This well-established 11–18 school educates approximately 1,200 students and enjoys a positive local reputation for academic strength, well-structured systems and strong pastoral care. The History department delivers a rich and carefully sequenced curriculum that helps students develop strong analytical skills, chronological understanding and historical interpretation. Classrooms are equipped with digital resources, historical archives and engaging materials that support extended learning. Staff consistently describe the school culture as calm, respectful and built on strong values.
