Job description
English ECT required January 2026 Good mixed 11–18 secondary school based in Brentwood English ECT to join a nurturing, experienced and academically progressive English faculty Our Client is seeking an English ECT to teach KS3–KS4, with a gradual induction, structured training blocks and regular mentoring from a highly experienced English team. The school provides full support, including tailored lesson planning guidance and developmental observations. School Information This well-regarded comprehensive educates around 1,250 pupils and maintains strong outcomes in English GCSE, with progress scores consistently above national expectations. The English department benefits from modern teaching rooms, extensive reading resources, digital annotation tools and a collaborative environment where ECTs are guided through curriculum sequencing, assessment strategies and behaviour management in a supportive, step-by-step way. The school is known for its inclusive ethos, excellent pastoral care and exceptional support for early career staff. ECTs receive weekly mentor meetings, half-termly progress reviews, and protected non-contact time to support planning and professional development.
