Job description
The Role: Full-time Design Technology Teacher to inspire and engage students at a leading independent school in Hackney. Develop and deliver innovative projects across various DT disciplines (e.g., product design, textiles, graphics). Utilize modern technologies and traditional techniques to foster creativity and problem-solving skills. Contribute to the development of the DT curriculum and extracurricular activities. Provide personalized guidance and support to students, encouraging their design aspirations. About the School: Prestigious independent school in Hackney with a strong emphasis on creativity and innovation. Well-equipped workshops and studios with access to cutting-edge technologies. Supportive and collaborative staff environment with a focus on professional development. Small class sizes, allowing for personalized attention and tailored learning experiences. Located in a vibrant and culturally rich area of Hackney. The Ideal Candidate: Passionate and innovative Design Technology Teacher with a strong portfolio of design work. Ability to inspire and motivate students of all abilities. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Commitment to continuous professional development and keeping up with industry trends. Right to work in the UK. Qualifications & Experience: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent. Degree in Design Technology or a related field. Experience teaching Design Technology at KS3, KS4, and ideally KS5. Proficiency in CAD/CAM software and traditional workshop skills.
