Job description
A prestigious independent school in Bexley is seeking an experienced and proactive Premises Manager to oversee the maintenance, security, and operational efficiency of the school campus ASAP . This is a full-time, permanent position within a professional and well-resourced environment. • Premises Manager – full-time, permanent • Independent 11–18 school in Bexley • ASAP start • Competitive independent sector salary About the Role The Premises Manager will lead the day-to-day management of the school site and coordinate a team of caretaking and facilities staff. You will ensure that all buildings, grounds, and facilities are safe, secure, and maintained to the highest standard. Key responsibilities include: • Managing and leading site staff, including caretakers and cleaners • Overseeing the maintenance and repair of school buildings and grounds • Ensuring compliance with Health & Safety regulations • Coordinating contractors, deliveries, and facility projects • Planning and managing facilities budgets • Supporting school events and lettings • Implementing sustainability and energy efficiency initiatives The Ideal Candidate • Previous experience in premises management or facilities leadership • Strong organisational and leadership skills • Knowledge of Health & Safety and statutory compliance • Ability to manage staff, contractors, and budgets effectively • Proactive, reliable, and detail-oriented • Commitment to safeguarding and creating a safe school environment About the School This independent school in Bexley is recognised for academic excellence, pastoral care, and outstanding facilities.
